Prof. Anne L’Huillier, Nobel Prize for Physics 2023, visits our labs

Aprile 23, 2024

Yesterday we had the pleasure to host Prof. Anne L’Huillier in our laboratories in Milan.

Prof. L’Huillier was awarded the Nobel Prize last year along with Prof. Agostini and Prof. Krausz for “for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter.”

During the day, Anne L’Huillier visited various laboratories of the Department of Physics and the Institute of Photonics and Nanotechnology of the CNR.

In the lecture held in the afternoon, L’Huillier wanted to follow the trajectory that led to the generation of Attosecond pulses in front of the packed room. He also illustrated various applications of the same in the field of atomic and molecular physics.

A journey through the frontiers of ultrafast science that allows us to discover new perspectives on electron dynamics and paves the way for revolutionary applications inattosecond spectroscopy and precision metrology.
